Synopsis:
Margot sells Lamont’s old ottoman and, upon discovering Lamont had a personal fondness for the item, sets out to an auction house to bid and win it back. During the bidding, however, a woman named Peggy and a man named Woody go crazy for the furniture, forcing Lamont to take drastic action to retrieve the ottoman only to discover it is not the same one that was in his living room. Lamont finds valuable business papers contained inside the piece. After examining the papers, Lamont discovers that Henry Vincent was the secret head of the Acme Company, who underbid Peggy’s father, putting him out of business. Woody is killed because he knew too much. Confronted with the truth, Peggy is shocked to learn that her fiancĂ© was the man responsible — thus ending her crusade to clear her father’s name. Intending to eliminate the parties who know too much, Sid and Henry visit Peggy and Margot to destroy the papers. Before they kill the women, The Shadow arrives to take control of the situation.
