Synopsis:
Lamont, working with David Fairfield of the United States Security, is trying to discover the identity of the head of a sabotage ring.To do this he joins the subversives who are committing acts of sabotage in war plants and befriends Sam Bardos, a known saboteur. Under orders, Lamont avoids any questioning from Margot, only filling her heart with sorrow when evidence suggests he has leaned to the other side. During an attempt to plant incendiary bombs in a war plant, Lamont is captured by a security officer and brought in for questioning. With cooperation from the Security Department, Lamont is set free in a last ditch effort to uncover the identity of Number One, the man responsible for masterminding the recent sabotage. As The Shadow, Lamont threatens to push Number Two out the window until he gets the information he needs. Visiting Number One, Lamont is surprised to discover the mastermind is none other than his good friend, Dr.Wylie. Security agents arrive to take over the situation, and Lamont is free to explain the past few weeks to a happy and satisfied Margot.
