Synopsis:
Ruth and Bill Smith are killed in a hit and run accident along the highway while Bill attempted to change a flat. The killer was Rocky Grimes, Ruth’s own brother, testing out the speed of his new hot rod. Johnny was sitting in the passenger seat at the time and is plagued by his conscience after the accident. Lamont and Margot find an infant among the wreckage and deliver the baby to Ruth’s parents and report the horrible news. Having learned the accident victims were his own kin, Rocky attempts to hide from the law by offering a wrong eyewitness account. Suspecting something amiss, Lamont searches the auto graveyard Rocky operates for the bloodstained hot rod while Margot fakes a needed repair job to distract Rocky. When Margot stumbles upon the body of Johnny who was locked away because he tried to phone the police, she discovers herself in Rocky’s death clutch — until The Shadow arrives to take over. Scared because his crime is exposed, Rocky attempts to flee in his hot rod which is doused in gasoline and dies in a ball of flame.
