Synopsis:
In an effort to help war bride Lola Beckley solve the mysterious death of her husband, Lamont has become the victim of a staged auto accident. Having survived the ordeal, then learning from Lola that the dead man is not her husband, he sets out as The Shadow to question those responsible for his attempted murder including Kitty, who is shot before she can reveal what she knows. Lola receives a phone call to join a man who promises to take her to New York City and meet her husband. The FBI identifies a new murder victim, the same man who attempts to eliminate Lamont, and his name turns out to be Kenneth Beckley. Following the only lead they have left, Margot finds herself facing a small gun in the hand of Lola, who never left for New York. It was she who smuggled DaVinci papers from France, worth a small fortune; her husband was betraying her and she only wanted Lamont and Margot to find him for her. Before she can leave with the papers and shoot Margot, The Shadow arrives to save the day.
