Synopsis:
Lamont Cranston is investigating Mike Zade, a notorious robber who recently committed a holdup. When Margot Lane’s escort of the previous evening, Dan Travis, is found murdered, Lamont’s efforts to discover the identity of the killer unearth several clues, all pointing to Margot Lane. Unable to remember the events of the previous evening because she was drugged, Margot thinks she is guilty. Commissioner Weston joins the investigation. Margot is kidnapped and Lamont and Weston follow the trail of flower petals to a warehouse, finding Zade attempting to murder Margot. Weston takes a daring shot, killing Zade. Lamont explains to Margot that Zade sold Travis on the idea of dating and drugging her, then kidnapping her, hoping to hold Margot to force Lamont to drop the investigation. When Zade heard Margot threaten Travis, he took advantage by killing Travis and framing Margot.
