Synopsis:
Professor Kroll of the State University Department of Anatomy plots a murder using a stolen corpse from the cold storage room. After learning that Alma Meadow’s husband, John, will not allow a divorce, the professor sends Alma to Chicago while he sets fire to her house and plants her wedding ring on the cadaver. Working out the minor details, Professor Kroll believes he committed the perfect crime — with John taking the rap. Lamont and Margot, friends of John Meadow, set out to learn the identity of Alma’s lover. As The Shadow, Lamont witnesses Kroll’s attempt to murder his lab assistant, Wheatley, who suspected the professor of theft and murder.After freeing Wheatley from a frozen death in the making, The Shadow trails Kroll to Chicago to learn the whereabouts of Alma and her lover and thwart their attempts to flee the country before the police learn of the scam.
