Synopsis:
In an attempt to solve a series of auto thefts and track down the murderer of a police officer that he personally knew, Lamont applies a geometric theorem with a map and a marker. Through their valiant efforts, Lamont and Margot are almost run over when they give chase to a vehicle carrying a newly painted stolen automobile. As The Shadow, Lamont questions Matt Logan’s wife Jean who was hired by Vic and Phil to paint the stolen cars before they are taken across state lines. When Matt attempts to quit his job, Vic assigns him a new one — to drive the latest car across to another state. To ensure Matt does the job, Phil keeps Jean company. Matt reluctantly makes the trip and returns to the garage to meet Mr. Selby, one of the victims of the racket. With aid from The Shadow, Jean is safe and sound, and the police round up Vic and Phil — and Roy Selby, who was the mastermind behind the scheme.
