Synopsis:
Under the guise of an escaped wild animal, a human killer has held a town in terror. Two victims have been clawed to death and a panther from the traveling carnival on the outskirts of Glendale is reported on the loose — apparently set free on purpose. Leta Valdez, who works with the big cats, is the prime suspect but when Lamont finds a connection between the victims and the steel clawed murder weapon he sets out as The Shadow to reveal the killer. Using Valdez as bait, The Shadow unmasks Bill Dillon as Robert Dayton, brother of Henry Dayton, who died in prison. Robert sought vengeance on the witnesses who testified at the murder trial back in 1933 and hoped to throw the blame on Valdez and her escaped panther, which was really killed and buried.
