Synopsis:
The Curator of Murder has struck again. In the Egyptology Room of the Civic Museum, a modern man lies half concealed by ancient mummy wrappings. His second victim lies beheaded on an ancient Aztec ceremonial altar. The surviving curators of the museum fear for their lives. The prime suspect is Charles Eastling, a former employee who was recently fired and apparently wants revenge. When Lamont and Margot investigate, they discover the truth in Vault 23. A hundred pound mask made of Columbia Metal is worth one hundred seventy thousand dollars in today’s market, because Columbia Metal is pure platinum. The real culprit is not Eastling. Curator Lincoln Beale faked his death by killing Eastling and switching clothes and identification, making the police believe the decapitated victim was Beale, so they spent time searching for Eastling. Using the mask for bait, The Shadow traps Beale and hands him over to Weston.
