Synopsis:
Pearl Walsh, a known spy, is murdered at a department store. David Fairfield requests assistance from Lamont and Margot to learn where her drop was so he can follow the trail leading to the spymaster for whom she worked. After studying the usual suspects in the department store and questioning her lover who remains in a severe case of shock, Lamont and Margot discover how Pearl communicated. Using the drop method, Lamont leaves a note for the spymaster and his associates, Jaffing and Shilko, to report to a deserted red brick plant where they expect to meet Pearl’s lover Henley. After the Shadow exposes the truth — that Pearl and Henley were expendable decoys for the police — Henley snaps out of his trauma and agrees to testify against the spies.
