Synopsis:
Lamont and Margot assist Johnny Ferris, a reporter for the local newspaper, in an effort to expose a blackmail racket involving phony narcotics charges that cost the life of Diane, a young woman whose father is a wealthy socialite. When Diane is murdered, the crooks turn to her father in an effort to extort money but then murder the old man in cold blood. The two suspects are Viano, a nightclub owner who frames the victims, and his silent partner, Wellington Vaughn, the society columnist who works for the newspaper and uses his influence to assist the racket. When Lamont discovers that Ferris is really Wellington Vaughn, the merciless leader of the well-organized gang, he uses his hypnotic power to become invisible and expose the clever criminals. Attempting to escape, Ferris discovers all the exits are blocked by police and is killed in an exchange of gunfire.
