Synopsis:
On a deluxe transcontinental train, Margot and Lamont discover the body of an East Indian gentleman locked in the lounge car liquor cabinet. The fabulous diamond called the Giant of Madras, which he was carrying, has disappeared. Thieves named Garrity and Hickey, led by the mastermind, Spider, have taken over the train with the sole purpose of stealing the diamond. They are responsible for the murder but were unable to find the prize. Attempting a number of ruses, the criminals fail to reckon with The Shadow who forces the train onto the main line junction and the nearest police station. The East Indian’s wife uses a gun to kill one of the crooks before they can make Margot the next victim. The diamond is returned to the old woman — apparently her husband placed the jewel in Lamont’s pocket before uttering his last breath.
