Synopsis:

Lamont Cranston reads an advertisement in the newspaper that leads him to the Sheldon Farm. Just one year previous, Henry and Lydia Sheldon lost their All-American son, Johnny, in a train wreck. At the farm, Lamont and Margot discover Henry and Lydia held captive by a gang of jewel thieves who are searching for the India Sapphire, valued at twenty thousand dollars. As the night progresses, Lamont and Margot witness a series of brutal murders and The Shadow attempts to figure out which of the thieves is responsible for eliminating his partners to get a larger cut of the hidden valuable. A surprise is in store for our heroes when they discover that Henry and Lydia placed the advertisement, bent on luring the guilty parties responsible for the death of their son, who was the leader of a rival gang of jewel thieves. Before they can eliminate the final member of the gang by setting him on fire, The Shadow takes Lydia’s gun and the key to the door and forces her, Henry and the panicked Margot outside before the last member of the gang, who remains strapped to iron bars, goes up in flames with the farm house.
