Moments before his hanging, mad-dog killer Acey Gomez swore to come back and wipe out the rest of the Larkin boys because they testified against him. Acey managed to kill their boss and wound young Joey Larkin, putting the boy in a coma. Gomez had the idea that they were double-crossing him. Within a few hours, Joey wakes from his coma and vanishes, leaving a hangman’s noose by the hospital bed. As the hours and days pass, Earl and Luke Larkin, are found strangled to death; witnesses overhear their screams crying out Acey Gomez’s name. When Lamont and Margot trace the whereabouts of Joey, they find the boy hanged — and Margot meets Gomez face to face. The Shadow arrives to reveal the identity of the mysterious killer whose real name is Mike Gomez, Acey’s brother, who supposedly died in a fire two years before. He faked his death in an insurance scam and set out to keep his brother’s promise, exacting revenge on the men responsible for his kin’s death. Having proven Acey Gomez was properly executed, The Shadow ensures Mike Gomez will join him.
