Synopsis:

Lamont and Margot’s carefree enjoyment of a day at the circus has a rude interruption when Carlos Valdez, one of the three death-defying aerialists of The Flying Valdez team, falls to his death. The trapeze act disaster was murder. During their investigation, Lamont and Margot discover that Victor was jealous of Rita’s husband and had good reason for committing the murder. But Carlos took to the air before Victor, and it is revealed that Victor was the intended victim. Thanks to Margot and Rita’s assistant Pedro, The Shadow apprehends the guilty party before another murder occurs. Johnny Fane of the Crystal Indemnity Insurance Company is really John Wallace, widower of Barbara Wallace, a trapeze artist who plunged to her death under similar circumstances. While the police and the insurance company ruled her death accidental, Wallace felt sure Victor was guilty and followed him to this circus where he attempted two killings.
