Synopsis:
In a bleak house on a windswept cape, a creature that kills like a big cat has struck with wild fury. The same creature was supposedly responsible for the death of Barbara’s brother six months before. Barbara’s friends, Lamont and Margot, visit her while vacationing and discover the lifeless body of the housekeeper, Helga. The circumstances are the same in the death of Barbara’s brother — his throat slashed with the same claw marks. Helga was superstitious and suspected Barbara of becoming a life-size panther or cat, much in the same vein as one who changes into a werewolf. After The Shadow observes her husband, Carl, attempting to burn phony bloodstained ‘evidence,’ he comes to Barbara’s rescue by revealing Carl’s plan to drive her mad so she would be confined to an institution. Carl killed her brother to put the main share of the estate in her name. Helga was suspicious of Carl so he murdered her, also.
