Synopsis:
In the belief that a gold rush in the Northwest woods is being used as a cover-up for espionage communication activities, Lamont and Margot join forces with Security Agent George Wallace in an effort to track down a dangerous spy using a radio transmitter. Even when the Security Department attempts to locate the equipment by triangulation, the transmitter cannot be found. Meanwhile, Vince Regan and his friend Rita operate “The Lucky Seven” and use their place as a way to learn who in the area struck gold so Vince can eliminate the prospectors before they stake a claim. While Vince profits, The Shadow investigates. Catching on, Rita poisons Lamont and sets out to find Vince, who grew leery of agent George Wallace, capturing and hiding him in a cave. Rita arrives to warn Vince about Lamont and saying she only helped Vince because she didn’t want anyone discovering the radio transmitter in the cave. Her real name is Rentlov and now that security agents are in the area and Vince discovered her secret, she attempts to silence them all. She fails to figure on The Shadow, who overpowers her and steals her gun. Later, Lamont explains to Margot that he saw Rita poison his glass, and he pretended to drink it.
