Synopsis:
Margot purchases a hat for the Easter holiday from a store that has locations across the globe. Unaware that the same hat was meant for two profiting spies, Margot and Lamont stumble onto a clever scheme involving top-secret formula. Concealed within the seam of the hat is a formula stolen from a U.S. government laboratory. It gives complete instructions for the building of a midget cyclotron, allowing the possessor the cheapest and quickest method of producing atomic weapons. Following the trail of bodies — including the spies seeking the formula — Lamont and Margot board a train bound for San Francisco in search of an international violinist named Respighi, the final link in the spy chain. Margot finds herself trapped in the boxcar but Lamont wired ahead for the police to pick up Respighi at the next stop. The Shadow laughs, smashing the window in the boxcar. The train comes to a stop, and armed officers move in.
