Synopsis:

Lamont is wanted for questioning in the murder of Carla Devins, cabaret entertainer. Lamont dodges both the police and gangsters in hopes of finding the real killer and clearing his name. Close to the truth, Lamont and Margot are forced into a rotted shack that is set ablaze but they escape in the nick of time. As The Shadow, Lamont questions the people involved and learns that Duke, Louie and Silky are finishing a job and meeting at an abandoned ice house near the bridge. The Shadow visits the icehouse just as Duke makes an attempt to eliminate his two partners. Duke killed Carla when she threatened to tell the truth about the murder of Joey, who is Silky’s brother. Systematically working his way up in the gang, Duke wanted to make Cranston the fall guy, knowing Silky wanted him put out of the way for killing his brother. The Shadow tricks Duke into a confession just as the police arrive to take them all in.
