Synopsis:
The life of retired actor Omar Dexter is threatened by multiple people as well as by a letter predicting his death at 9:48. At the symphony hall where his wife performs, he dies from what appears to be natural causes. Lamont finds the method by which the opera singer, her voice hitting a high note, triggered a small box of needles containing poison. After Lamont questions a number suspects, including Dexter’s widow and his late business partner’s son, The Shadow traps Dexter’s closest friend Raymond into believing the same mechanism will take his life as the record player plays loudly. Raymond confesses.
