Synopsis:
Carl Mercer, president of the Clinton Realty Company, resorts to murder when the owner of a dry cleaning firm will not sell his store. Tipped off by the storeowner’s phone call before the murder and arson, Lamont suspects the real estate company that purchased the property. Carl has an ace up his sleeve. The beautiful Vicky is the newly hired secretary to the chief draftsman’s office of the city and uses her position to tip off Carl so he and his associates can buy the land before the city makes an offer. Weeks pass and while the crooks profit, Vicky falls in love with the draftsman, Robert. When she attempts to leave town because she won’t hurt Robert, the game gets more deadly and Lamont, with the assistance of Margot, learns of the real estate man’s recent purchases and comes to the rescue before Carl arranges for the murder of Vicky. Robert learns that Vicky testified against the crooks and proved her faithfulness and so the two rush off to be married.
