Synopsis:
In an effort to solve a murder and expose a gunrunning racket, Lamont is hired as an engineer aboard “The Tregenia,” posing as the seaman, John Peterson. “The Tregenia” has been the means of smuggling guns and other war material into San Rico to be used by the insurgent forces to overthrow the government. Carl Logan, the former engineer, discovered weapons contained in false bottoms of the crates and was silenced for his knowledge. When Lamont’s disguise is uncovered he learns that the mastermind is Tyler, the cargo master for the Ramsey Line, who plans to eliminate the investigating detective the same way he and his men got rid of Logan. The men failed to reckon with the wrath of The Shadow, who tricks Tyler into emptying his gun before knocking him out and ordering Douglas, the captain, to stay where he is until the police arrive.
