Synopsis:
Posing as a lawyer, a man named Quenton is operating a missing heir racket involving the sale of a treasure map once belonging to the pirate Blackbeard. His victims, however, keep turning up dead when Blackbeard’s ghost, his head in flames, begins a series of insane murders. Fearing his business will be uncovered, Quenton hires Lamont Cranston to find the man posing as the ghost of Blackbeard. The guilty culprit is an old man named Salt, alias Joseph Teach, the father of Quenton’s secretary, Nellie Wallace. As The Shadow, Lamont investigates the details of the case and after four deadly murders, pieces together the clues to form the connection and solution to the murder. The Shadow uses antique handcuffs to capture the ghost of Blackbeard in the same fashion Teach used to murder his victims.
