Synopsis:

Lou the Locksmith opens a safe for Mr. Jehoviac, who is desperate to make payroll tomorrow but unable to remember the combination. Suspecting something wrong, Lou turns to Lamont, who quickly verifies that thieves stole a safe full of money while posing as owners of the Triple J Trucking Company. When the real Mr. Jehoviac claims his safe is always empty and Lou proves his story by opening it with the combination, the mystery becomes more baffling. Joe and Marna, the thieves who tricked Lou into opening the safe, follow the locksmith’s trail in an effort to silence him. Lamont discovers they are being trailed and, as The Shadow, prevents a murder and assists the police in their capture. Lou, an honest citizen who made an innocent mistake, has nothing to fear from the law.
