Synopsis:

Answering the frantic appeal of young physicist Bob Warner who was mysteriously stricken while phoning Lamont for advice and help, Lamont and Margot investigate the cause of his ailment. Discovering his recent employer, Professor Orloff, is working on a solar gun that causes the victim to suffer a heart attack and almost complete paralysis, Lamont questions the eccentric scientist. After learning that Bob’s scientific notes are missing and the superintendent of Bob’s building was responsible for allowing the professor to steal them, Lamont arranges for Margot to take Bob’s fiancée to the hospital to check on Bob, while The Shadow pays Orloff a visit. He faces a big challenge there — dodging the deadly ray emitting from the gun Orloff commands. Tricking the scientist into thinking the sun is going behind the clouds, The Shadow takes hold of him so the police can arrest him for attempted murder.
