Synopsis:
Soon after the execution of Angel Nolan, the brains behind dozens of unsolved murders and lesser crimes, his sister Angela masterminds a perfect frame to exact revenge against Lamont whose investigative work led to the conviction. After shooting Carol Arden, whose father was killed by Angel, her body is placed in Lamont’s car and Lamont is knocked unconscious with the murder weapon placed in his pocket. After forcing an auto accident along the side of the road, Angel laughs with glee knowing Lamont will be accused of a murder he did not commit. The evidence against Lamont is so strong that the case was open and shut — with public opinion running high against him. After escaping from jail, Lamont gets Margot to gain entry to Angela Nolan’s apartment so, as The Shadow, he can begin tormenting her like a guilty conscience. Hours pass and Angela, her nerves pushed to the breaking point, is forced to confess to Weston and his men how she framed an innocent man.
