Playing the role of an ex-con, Lamont gains the confidence of the gang. When Margot attempts a little investigating on her own she is apprehended by Nick and his henchman and turned over to Walter Hohlmayer. Holmayer is a former Nazi and number two man of the Gestapo, responsible for devising all the ingenious torture techniques used by the secret police.
