Synopsis:

Investigating the disappearance of Jeff Walker, a young writer engaged to Irene Gregory, Lamont and Margot accompany his fiancée to the heavily-guarded estate of her guardian uncle, a crippled, eccentric big game hunter. Having pursued every big game known to roam the wild, the hunter decides to stalk a human — hoping to silence Walker because the marriage would require an accounting to the funds he embezzled. Uncle Malcolm Gregory’s estate is located far out of town in the swampy marshes, surrounded by a high stone gate with electrified wire to confine the wild animals. The Shadow preys on the conscience of Hugo, caretaker of the estate, into confronting the big game hunter with the truth. Hugo demands half of Irene’s money in return for assistance with Jeff’s murder but Malcolm shoots the servant. The Shadow laughs, having found where Jeff was hiding. He tricks the big game hunter into firing at him, and the shots alert arriving police. Irene and Jeff are reunited, and the young man, wounded from one of Malcolm’s giant cats, recovers from his wounds.
