Synopsis:

Frank Wilson returns home with a bloodstained knife and coat and a wallet that does not belong to him. Unable to remember what he did that night, he and his wife, Susan, suspect his sleepwalking has become a case of murder and robbery. Susan calls on Lamont to investigate. Harvey Wayne, a member of the firm where Frank works, is found stabbed to death by an Egyptian knife — the one that Frank brought home. While the police have Frank in custody, Lamont arranges with Weston to let Frank roam free but he escapes to learn the truth. Partner Maxwell Morgan, of the firm of Wayne and Morgan, knew of Frank’s susceptibility to mental suggestion. Having been an expert at hypnotism who previously performed on stage years ago, Morgan decided to kill his partner, Harvey Wayne. He called Frank into his office and gave him a post-hypnotic suggestion. No honest man can be hypnotized into committing a crime but he can be made to believe he committed the crime. Fearing exposure for embezzlement, Morgan felt this was the best solution to his problem — he just never counted on The Shadow to interfere.
