Synopsis:
Simon Parry pays a crooked surgeon to perform plastic surgery on an unknown, so he can arrange for an “accident” and collect a million dollar insurance policy payable to an alias he created. After the crime is committed, Parry arranges for his own face to be surgically altered so his alias can collect the money. The dead man’s sister arrives from the East and, as a favor to her, Weston asks Lamont to investigate her brother’s disappearance. Discovering Parry’s ruse, Lamont and Margot race to an office where all of the parties involved in the scheme are found dead from bullet wounds. The Shadow visits the surgeon, Doc Gibbon. Discovering Margot’s investigative abilities are top notch because she too had the same idea, The Shadow saves her from a hypodermic needle and knocks Gibbon out so the police can arrive and find the criminal unarmed.
