Synopsis:

The tragic misdirection of a brilliant mind fails to reckon with The Shadow when Professor Savage of City College attempts to suspend life by quick-freezing and then restoring it with some sort of thermo-ray he claims to have perfected. Upon learning that the professor offered his students a chance to pass Biology III if they participate as human guinea pigs, Dean Adams threatens to fire the professor — only to suffer a heart attack and fall down a flight of marble stairs. The death of the dean brings in Weston, Margot and Lamont to investigate. While seeking Chuck Davis, an athlete willing to participate in the program, Lamont discovers the rumor is true and, as The Shadow, foils the professor’s plan before putting Chuck into a deep freeze. Angered by The Shadow’s interference, the professor threatens to use a jar of acid as a weapon but is blinded accidentally with the acid and breaks his neck falling to his death down a flight of stairs.
