Synopsis:
Vacationing in Rome, Margot and Lamont walk through the ruins of the Coliseum when an American named Dick Nolan crumples at their feet, a knife buried in his back. On the trail of his murderer, the two hurriedly walk through the ancient cobblestone streets to question a local informant. Learning Nolan was working with two American criminals and spent his free time with an American student, they find Teresa to discover the secret. Nolan had a pet parrot and the detectives use the bird as bait to trap the criminal, Curly Tomaso, and get a confession. Ex-gangsters deported from America were continuing their narcotics racket from Italy. Dick Nolan was sent over by the U.S. government to get in with the mob and get enough evidence to convict them. The bird’s cage contained a false bottom for concealing heroin. Tomaso began to suspect Dick so he arranged his death. The local police move in on the criminal after The Shadow and Margot confirm the truth.
