Synopsis:
At the Darkmoor Estate in the swamplands, Lamont and Margot investigate the shocking murder of Loretta Gaylord, the victim of a brutal stabbing. Larry’s mother, Ruby, died by the vicious hands of the wicked Gaylords. Since he returned to the estate she has returned also as the ghost of Darkmoor, taking on the form of a glowing red doll about a foot tall and killing anyone who stands in her way. Evil must be punished or the spirits cannot rest. While Lamont and Margot question the suspects, Mr. Gaylord and the caretaker, Old Wheeler, become the next victims in the prophecy. Using Margot as bait since she spent part of her childhood at the Darkmoor Mansion, Lamont hides in the shadows waiting for the Ruby doll to return. When the lights come on, The Shadow finds Larry dressed in black to remain hidden at night, with a small doll with a red flashlight in hand attached to a string. Larry sought revenge for the unjust crimes against his mother. Unable to cope with The Shadow, his mind snaps — the bitter vengeance that drove him to murder has boomeranged and caused his complete breakdown.
