Synopsis:

Phil Stokes is holding a beauty contest at the annual Aqua Show with Lamont as the invited judge of the bathing beauties. Before the show commences, two of the models are found dead — one in the road and one in a swimming pool. The police keep the deaths quiet so the pageant can continue. Victor Reese, the hired photographer for the beauty pageant, eliminates any challenge to his wife Rose’s supremacy in the contest by using a special device on his camera that sprays a poison on the models — a chemical mixture that induces severe dizziness and numbness. When Margot fails to return from the coroner with a chemical analysis, Lamont sets out and finds her in the clutches of the photographer, moments before the pageant commences. The Shadow foils the scheme, having already found the poison and switched it with ordinary tap water. Victor is apprehended by the police, as is Rose, for being an accomplice to the crimes.
