Synopsis:
Violent death has struck twice in the gloomy shadows of Crownshield castle, as a terrible legend apparently has become a reality. Mad, extraordinarily powerful old Joseph Crownshield has risen from the dead and is spreading death and destruction. Henry, the butler, calls in Lamont and Margot to solve the murder of his wife but Henry also becomes a victim of the powerful hands of a haunting horseman. When Brad Crownshield is murdered, Lamont suspects Joseph, the elderly father, has inherited the madness passed down from his ancestors. When Margot hides out in the cellar for protection she faces Sheila, the daughter, and finds that she has been trying to shift the blame to her father. Having given him drugs disguised as medicine, she kept him locked in the stable when she wanted him out of the way so she could commit the murders and inherit the family fortune. The Shadow confronts Sheila and locks her up so the police can take over.
