Synopsis:
In the old Sheldon mansion, Margot and Lamont find Julia and Agatha Sheldon terrified at what seems to be a horrible certainty — that their dead sister Cynthia has returned from her grave. Now, just as Freddie, the house servant, appears responsible for the strange events including a freshly dug grave and a ghostly white apparition, Margot and Lamont find his broken body at the foot of a long dark staircase. While Lamont questions the two sisters, Margot meets the ghost face to face. The specter of Cynthia appears and Julia offers Agatha the candlestick, encouraging her to kill the sister she secretly tried to murder. The Shadow holds Julia at bay to reveal that Cynthia is not dead. Julia had found her lying unconscious at the foot of the stairs and without telling Agatha, slipped her upstairs into the attic. Cynthia was on the verge of insanity and the blow to the head did the rest. The family wealth her aim, Julia created the ruse to have Agatha repeat the events and finish the job so the State would execute her. Having killed Freddie, however, Julia will soon be graveyard-bound.
