Synopsis:

Lamont and Margot visit the home of traveler-adventurer Martin Hewes who possesses an ancient mummified Aztec head which is said to have extraordinary powers. Two of the wishes Hewes made on the head have miraculously come true, the second resulting in his wife’s death.After questioning Martinez, the store proprietor who failed to buy the head from Hewes, The Shadow sends Margot to the shop. Realizing Margot knows the secret of the head — it is tattooed with the directions to an Aztec treasure — Martinez pulls out a knife. Hewes arrives, having overheard the conversation about how the murder was accomplished and the wishes granted, and attempts to choke Martinez. The Shadow arrives to prevent another murder and leads the police to the scene.
