Synopsis:
Johnnie Regan was a witness to an attempted hijacking and the murder of his best friend. The police apprehend murderer Chris Anders. With Johnnie identifying the killer, the police can close the books on the case. Johnnie fails to identify the suspect, however, when Anders’ fellow gang member, Walt Striker, threatens the life of Johnnie’s little boy Richie. Deducing interference, Lamont uses his Shadow identity to question Johnnie and confirm his suspicions. Satisfied that Anders is set free, Striker moves in with Johnnie and Richie, as Richie’s long-lost relative “Uncle Walt,” to ensure no further problems. When The Shadow continues to plague Johnnie as a guilty conscience, forcing him to confess, he arranges for the police to surround the apartment. Scared, Striker attempts to use Richie as a hostage but The Shadow twists his arm, forcing the criminal to drop his gun. Johnnie picks up the weapon and gains the satisfaction of turning Striker over to the police.
