Synopsis:

Lamont and Margot venture to the Caribbean on the trail of a gang of suspected ship scuttlers led by Ramirez and Rosette. Discovering that Captain Morgan and Mr. Matson were in charge of each of the sailing vessels that were lost at sea, the sleuths board the Pride of Para, only to discover that a time bomb is set to detonate within seconds. After racing to the deck and jumping overboard in time to escape the terrific explosion, they return to the island to face the criminals. Honor among thieves disappears when Ramirez attempts to skip town with the payment he owed Morgan. After Ramirez is shot dead by the captain, Rosette arrives to take care of the captain. The Shadow attempts to apprehend the men but Rosette sets his deadly pet bird after the invisible man. Believing The Shadow fell to his death out the window, the thieves discover he only smashed the window so the bird could leave. Lamont later explains to Margot that sand was substituted for the cargo of sugar aboard the ships that were sunk so the bootleg sugar ring could continue.
