Synopsis:

A young man who calls himself Hank forces his way into Letitia Camden’s home and sets up residence. As a guard for the Chinatree Asylum, Hank claims that her late husband was alive and well up until the other night when he died. An autopsy reveals her husband was of unsound mind. Letitia calls the family physician, a friend of Lamont and Margot’s, to the estate to help her with the problem. After a game of cat and mouse involving an attempted poisoning, the truth is exposed: Letitia’s husband supposedly died in a plane accident but faked his own death for the insurance money. The family physician caught on and drugged him and had him committed. The asylum nurses and doctors never paid attention to the ravings of their patients. Alone with Hank, the doctor and Letitia attempt to dispose of him because he attempted to blackmail them but they find their effort thwarted by The Shadow.
