Synopsis:
In the jungles of Hodang, the leader of a revolution known as The Cobra is worshipped by his followers as a snake god. He plays upon their superstition in order to take over the island for the enemies of freedom. Fearing The Cobra’s followers will come out of the jungle to plunder towns, murder men, women and children, Colonel Hakim employs the services of Lamont Cranston to help solve the mystery by unearthing the real identity of The Cobra. On route to Hodang via a two-day boat trip up the Bay of Bengal, Lamont and Margot dodge poisonous darts and witness the mysterious disappearance of the colonel. In an effort to reach a plantation owned and operated by Amir and Narda Surbaya, also passengers on the boat, they witness the brutal burning of a village and the slaying of its people. With Margot as bait, Lamont becomes The Shadow to reveal the true identity of The Cobra and beats the criminal unconscious to end the reign of terror.
