Synopsis:
A hoodlum named Frankie Harmon was safely kept under lock and key for the murder of millionaire art dealer Percy Bainbridge until the night he escaped state prison to exact revenge on those responsible for his incarceration. Frankie seeks out Celia Bainbridge, the woman he loves, only to find himself arrested by Commissioner Weston thanks to a tip-off from Rudolph Gamion, a phony medium. Celia is a client of Gamion and the medium attempted to sell her out for the reward money. Frankie escapes from the police, murders Gamion and wounds Gamion’s wife. As Lamont investigates, he discovers Frankie was in the company of Celia since escaping Weston’s custody. Margot arranges a séance of her own at Gamion’s place, inviting all the suspects and Commissioner Weston. As The Shadow, Lamont proves that Celia’s brother Henry was the real killer — including the murder of his brother, Percy, for the inheritance — and that he pinned the crime on Harmon.
