Synopsis:

A mad killer escapes from a sanitarium and stalks the cit choosing female victims at random. After stabbing his victims to death, he cuts off the hair of each one near the scalp and then sends blood-red roses to each of his next victims using the locks of hair to bind the stems together. He killed his wife years ago because she deserted him. The killer is described as a man who speaks softly, walks with a limp and has the strength of two men. When Margot receives a box of roses with a lock of hair, she is placed under police protection. Sergeant Lawson begins to act strangely and Margot creates a scene when she suspects Lawson is the killer. Embarrassed by the ordeal, Lamont uses her as bait to trap the real killer in the streets. In the struggle, the killer, thinking Margot is his late wife, falls on his own knife and ends the killing spree for good.
