Synopsis:
Diablo, a black panther trained by the strange Rita Corell, has escaped from the carnival and embarked on a campaign of death. The carnival shuts down for the night while employees set out to catch the panther lurking in the dark, deserted midway and park. Two men become victims and Lamont, a friend of the carnival owner, joins in the search. After The Shadow gets nowhere questioning Rita Corell, Lamont digs through old newspapers and questions the warden of a prison to find the solution. David Kramer escaped from prison three months before and used an iron claw to seek revenge on the men responsible for his incarceration. In an effort to bait the panther, Margot is costumed to give the appearance of a third possible victim and Lamont shoots and wounds the animal. The Shadow apprehends the killer and holds him long enough for the police to arrive.
