Synopsis:
Boss Brock, a racketeer who was recently released after being on trial on a murder charge, meets Crazy Rose, the mother of one of his victims. She places a curse on the racketeer, stating, “four times you’ll be executed,” claiming the curse comes from the dead. Brock doesn’t believe it at first, but when two members of his gang are killed in accidents that resemble executions he begins to suspect the curse is true. Investigating Brock’s activities in hopes of sending him to jail, Lamont and Margot learn about Crazy Rose and set out to find the woman who lives at an old shack along the waterfront. A third member of the gang suffers an execution-style death, but Brock manages to find Crazy Rose. The Shadow catches up to them and reveals the solution — Brock knew his men were double-crossing him while he was behind bars, so he eliminated each of them, using the old woman’s prophesy as an excuse the police might accept. Exposed, Brock attempts to escape and dies from a dozen police slugs in his chest thanks to Margot’s tip to Commissioner Weston.
