Synopsis:

A plague of zombies has been terrorizing the population of a small island off the South Carolina coast. After the murder of the local sheriff, Lamont and Margot investigate the strange Chris Duval, who is researching a voodoo cult and the creation of zombies by digging up remains from a graveyard on his property. The Shadow later questions Duval and discovers he is a fraud — simply attempting to scare people away so he can conduct research in private. But Tom Taggart, a local resident, has discovered a huge deposit of uranium in the seaside cliffs and, after kidnapping a number of youths, has drugged them to obey his every command, including mining for uranium. After knocking out the inquisitive Lamont, Taggart attempts to inject the same drug into Margot. The Shadow takes the needle and injects the drug into the killer. The Shadow then orders the zombie-like slaves to safety so they can recover while Taggart keeps a date with the electric chair.
