Synopsis:
The Shadow is hot on the trail of The Gambler, a criminal mastermind who hides behind a mask and arranges for his henchmen to leave a pair of loaded dice at the scene of the crimes. The international thief has been on a two-week spree of robberies that make Commissioner Weston and his men look a close second to the Keystone Cops. Inspector LaPalme, the international detective, arrives in the U.S. hoping to trap the elusive arch-criminal and joins forces with Lamont Cranston, celebrity sleuth. In front of Margot Lane’s terrified eyes, wealthy Doris Abbot is robbed and killed; her husband is knocked unconscious. Margot’s keen observation of an unusual design on the cufflink worn by one of the thieves gives Lamont the edge in tracking down the whereabouts of The Gambler. Making an appearance in The Gambler’s office, The Shadow knocks the gun out of his hand and orders one of his henchmen to unmask the fiend — and discovers Inspector LaPalme, alias Paul Abbot, a master of disguise and mimicry, capable of a third identity. The police arrive to take over as The Shadow makes his getaway.
