Synopsis:

Through the trickery of an unscrupulous charlatan named Gregor, posing as a psychiatrist, a young woman attempting to overcome her neurosis about firearms shoots herself through the temple. Gregor’s assistant Irene gets hired as a social secretary for many wealthy young society women to gather information for him. While Commissioner Weston writes the death off as an open and shut case of suicide, Lamont suspects foul play. Gregor profits by calling himself a psychic adviser and cures wealthy socialites of their fears in return for untraceable securities. When the sleuths discover a connection between the victims — including a third woman who recently conquered her fear of heights by jumping off a penthouse balcony — Margot makes herself fit the profile so she can become Gregor’s latest client. However, Irene discovers the game and alerts Gregor, risking Margot’s life. Before Margot can become the next victim, The Shadow interferes. Making a daring escape, Gregor flees the building only to face machine gun fire at the hands of the police and Commissioner Weston.
