Synopsis:
When Frank Garner, who had hired a gunman to take his life, was mysteriously bailed out of jail where he hid for protection, Lamont and Margot set out to find Garner before it is too late. Poor business decisions forced Garner to take desperate measures, but the gunman is clever enough to hide his identity — even from Lamont. The search ends with the discovery of Garner’s bullet-riddled body but a clue suggests to Lamont that it isn’t really Garner. Following the trail through the bail bondsman, The Shadow apprehends and uses the gunman to bait Vera Garner to reveal the truth: Frank Garner faked his own death because he stole eighty thousand dollars from his company. When Frank attempts to double-cross his wife, The Shadow arrives to prevent the murder. Cranston suspected Frank faked his own death because he forgot the small detail of putting his wedding ring on the corpse.
