Synopsis:

Trapped in an empty factory with the body of a murdered man, Lamont and Margot try to solve the mystery surrounding the dead man’s phone call that summoned them there. The call left a terrifying warning that the building has acquired a deadly pseudo-life that kills. The man’s nephew claims his uncle had been dead for two days but the sleuths suspect foul play — not science fiction. After a few hauntings in the Harper factory, Lamont uses Margot as bait to trap the guilty culprits — Wilson and Jordan, the old man’s nephews. They made it seem the factory was coming to life to hold Lamont and Margot’s attention and keep them away from the Harper home. Believing Margot found the old man’s will, they kidnap her and take her to the house. The Shadow arrives to reveal that no such will exists. Colonel Harper knew he was dying so he phoned Lamont and Margot to reveal his intentions of donating his estate to the Welfare Fund. Their presence on the phone caused them to serve as witnesses with a tape recording made for verification. Realizing their scheme failed, Wilson and Jordan lost two and one half million dollars.
